You. Guys. Rock.
So it's 1.30am and here I am (again), my mind buzzing too much to sleep. Under other circumstances, this would be truly frustrating - but strangely enough the overwhelming feeling I have is of gratitude.
With the lurking possibility of going into level 3 lockdown at any moment, it hits me how much I love coworking here with this bunch of amazing people. Really.
I love that everyone here does something that they are passionate about, so passionate that they have risked going out on a limb to start their own business. They're gutsy and edgy and they’re striving to do something that might not always be immediately clear to them - but they're giving it their best shot. They are open to ideas, conversations, bad jokes and eating 5 day old curries.
They might not realise it, but that communal spirit of just giving something a go, is inspirational. It makes anything possible, and makes me want to charge forward when I get filled with self doubt, or when things get tough.
Not to mention that they are incredibly talented, clever, astute, humble, creative, dog-loving humans. They teach me stuff all the time. Some of the things I've learnt from them (in no particular order):
How to use free photoshop mockups to make my work look ace
How to design (basic) websites and even code in CSS!
A multitude of free apps that make my work flows so much easier
What an excellent choice of dog breed mini-schnauzers are
That pouring boiling hot water from a height into the coffee plunger makes the best brew
Writing and submitting proposals (big deal for a visual person)
Always on-point design feedback and tips that elevate my work
You awesome millennials teaching me how to use social media LOL
Skux, vlogging, 2FA, how to spell tiktok
To not fear failure, that where we are right now is where we are meant to be
Sorry if you're suffering through this, maybe in a month I’ll look back and cringe, it might be weird but I’ll just say it anyway… Thankyou. You. Guys. Have. Changed. My. Life. And. You. Rock.
